I live on the Fleurieu Peninsular in South Australia, in the small town of Victor Harbor.
I love to create items of beauty that are uplifting, humorous, searching, moving and mysterious.
Working in Wood is a joy. It has life and depth. I pick up a piece of found wood, move it around, contemplate it’s form and line, and decide on an item, be it a bowl, walking stick or purely sculptural form. PeopleĀ and creatures are often incorporated in the item. I often remove a minimal amount of wood to reveal a face or form.
My backyard workshop contains a myriad of tools and machines to make my creations. Chainsaws, drills, chisels and gauges – whatever is necessary to gain the desired form and texture. Most of the wood I use is found after weathering for many years, and it is only after I have cut into it that I can establish its type.
I enjoy sharing and selling my creations in Art Galleries, at exhibitions and markets. I have been creating some public art recently.A peace pole in victor harbors, is in warland reserve.Kondale wale is at the high school.a pelican is at goolwa primary school.
